Shared Gifting

2023-2024 CTX Network Weavers Shared Gifting Tools

(Extended) Application deadline is December 15, 2023!

What is Shared Gifting?

This year, Central Texas Network Weavers will have funds available through the participatory grant making process called shared gifting. Participatory grant making turns traditional grant making on its head by giving recipients the power to make the decision about how funds are allocated. The underlying philosophy of participatory grant making is to empower residents and communities with flexibility and support to make collective decisions about financial resources…as opposed to external funders or ‘big players’ making those decisions.

It’s a grant-making model that puts values of equity, transparency and collective decision-making into action. The overarching theme of the 2023-2024 CTX Network Weaver seed funds is ‘Growing and Celebrating Goodness.’ This year St. David’s Foundation has given $20,000 which will be distributed among 20 applications at a maximum amount of $1,000.

But wait, there’s more! One of our Network Engines will send an invite to an in-person meeting in January for all initially approved applications and an opportunity to earn more dollars, gifts, and/or talent sharing with other weavers! At the shared gifting event, Network Weavers will present their projects to their peers then choose how to distribute their giving funds to peer projects. All financial forms to distribute dollars will be completed at the in-person meeting.
